Winnipeg’s The Liptonians issue their sophomore release Let’s All March Back Into the Sea which follows their successful 2008 self-titled debut. After touring across Canada for a couple years in support of The Liptonians, band founders Matt Schellenberg and Bucky Driedger sequestered themselves in a rural cabin and wrote a set of pop-rock songs that include experimental arrangements and rich instrumentation (accordion, horns, organ, percussion). Keeping true to their DIY roots, they recorded Let’s All March Back Into the Sea at a variety of venues, from the Prairie Recording Co. (The Weakerthans, Christine Fellows), to MCM Studios, to various basements, offices, rehearsal spaces and lofts, capturing their contagious live-off-the-floor sound and energy. Check out their latest to get a glimpse of these Canadian up and comers. – Written by JFelton
