Mark Lanegan is the name behind some of the most influential bands of the last 2+ decades: grunge godfather Screaming Trees and hard rock outfit Queens of the Stone Age. For his seventh solo album Blues Funeral, Lanegan gathered many of his ongoing collaborators such as Alain Johannes (Eleven, QOTSA), Josh Homme (QOTSA), Jack Irons (formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Greg Dulli (The Afgan Whigs) for a strong 12 track collection of blues and rock. Blues Funeral is available in vinyl and will be widely released in early February. Check out promo single “The Gravedigger’s Song” featuring Lanegan’s distinctive gravelly vocals and full backing band. – Written by JFelton
