Chicagoan Mark Witt self-released his debut EP Leave it Alone. Accompanied by local friends and musicians, Witt’s six tracks showcase finely crafted guitar pop and solid musicianship. Sometimes less is more, and Witt achieves a nice balance with standout tracks “Black Shadows” with its catchy guitar hook and female vocal accompaniment, and title track “Leave it Alone” which leads in with a lo-fi intro building to a guitar/drum/synthesizer set. Witt offers pleasing Americana inspired indie pop which could benefit from more polished production values, but as is, Leave it Alone is a promising start. – Written by JFelton
