Mike Farris, the former leader of the Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies and member of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s backing band Double Trouble, released the stellar LP, Shine For All The People. On the Grammy nominated roots gospel album, Farris brings a signature mix of rock, blues, soul and gospel over a set of rollicking originals, covers and traditional tunes that will get hands clapping, feet tapping and spirits soar. A few standout tracks include: the infectious “Power of Love”, the Mary Gauthier cover “Mercy Now”, the horns and choir on “River Jordan”, the smoky bar take on JB Lenoir’s “Jonah and the Whale”, and the Preservation Hall jazz style arrangement on “Sparrow.” The entire album is fantastic – a near perfect album, in fact. Shine For All The People ranks among the finest offerings of Farris’ legendary career.g – Written by JFelton
