This Icelandic indie-folk six piece made a splash in 2010 winning the country’s battle of the bands (Músíktilraunir) and followed-up with their highly praised debut full length. My Head is An Animal was first released in their homeland in 2011, and has finally hit American shores. The 12 tracks include all four singles from their 2011 Into the Woods EP as well as “Little Talks” which became the gateway single following the band’s KEXP Living Room Session. Together the group plays lovely, mystical yet joyous songs about the tough characters that inhabit the dark, isolated landscape. Check out what is sure to be the best Reykjavík export since Sigur Rós. – Written by JFelton
