Tulsa, Oklahoma frontman and guitarist Beau Roberson (aka Pilgrim) forms a supergroup of sorts featuring keyboardist and singer/songwriter John Fullbright, multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Jesse Aycock (Hard Working Americans), singer/songwriter Paddy Ryan on drums, bassist Aaron Boehler (John Moreland, Burn Halo), and guitarist Stephen Lee. The eleven-song collection No Offence, Nevermind Sorry was recorded at Leon Russell’s former Paradise Studio at Grand Lake in Tia Juana, Oklahoma and mixes a combination of rock, funk, country, and the blues. Album highlights include: the rambling opening track “Darkness of the Bar”; the heartbreaker “Out of Touch”; the emotive “Scar Across My Heart”; the mellow hard-luck story “Hallelujah Moment”; the Fred Eaglesmith cover “Katie”; the driving rocker “High on the Banks”; the lazy ramble of “Backslider”; and the dark atmospheric closing track “Rodeo Man.” Pilgrim’s No Offence, Nevermind Sorry brings together a group of very talented musicians and I look forward to seeing them evolve over the next few albums. – Written by JFelton
