Ryan Bingham – Tomorrowland

  • September 29, 2012

New Mexico born, SoCal based troubadour Ryan Bingham has had a meteoric couple of years since releasing 2010’s Junky Star. That year Bingham and legendary co-writer T Bone Burnett won the triple crown (a Grammy, Golden Globe, and an Oscar) for best original song with “The Weary King” from the movie Crazy Heart. Now he is back and totally independent, having parted ways with backing band Dead Horses and self-producing the excellent album Tomorrowland on his own label, Axster Bingham Records. The sense of freedom is pervasive, from its rock and roll underpinnings to his increased use of electric instrumentation, to his unapologetically forthright and righteous attitude about social ills, economic strife, and society’s outcasts. Check out standout tracks “Heart of Rhythm”, “The Road I’m On”, and closer “Too Deep to Fill.” – Written by SMarx
