One album I recently found on Bandcamp that I’m excited to introduce is Shakey Graves’ self release of indie folk, Roll the Bones. Shakey Graves is actor/musician Alejandro Rose-Garcia, who brings his native Texan influences to his L.A. based gig. Rose-Garcia’s ten songs (plus 2 bonus tracks) are simple, acoustic numbers with little instrumentation beyond finger picked guitar, banjo and his unique vocal stylings; however Shakey Graves does at times employ layers of backing vocals and handclaps, adding a fuller yet intimate feel. Standouts on Roll the Bones include “Built To Roam”, “Proper Fence”, and a surprising and intriguing cover of Bruce Springsteen’s classic “I’m On Fire.” – Written by JFelton
