Shannon Shaw – Shannon In Nashville

  • September 3, 2018

Shannon Shaw and The Clams have released several great garage rock/rockabilly albums over the better part of a decade and Shaw is now stepping out on her own for her first solo album Shannon In Nashville. Shaw is refining her sound with a more polished mix of soul, classic girl groups and vintage pop. Produced by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Shannon in Nashville is a lush and captivating collection of songs which showcase Shaw as a talented singer/songwriter and vocalist. Here Auerbach pairs Shaw with a group of legendary session players like drummer Gene Chrisman (Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Patsy Cline) and keyboardist Bobby Wood (Elvis, John Prine, Johnny Cash) and numerous others alongside Auerbach himself and his vintage studio know how. Album highlights include: the lush opening track “Golden Frames”; the simmering heartbreaker “Broke My Own”; the soul-baring piano ballad “I Might Consider”; the warped nostalgia of “Freddies ‘n’ Teddies”; the Elvis-esque ballad “Cold Pillows”; and the steamy “Goodbye Summer.” The songs are filled with rich instrumentation and impeccable sound quality all of which help to elevate Shannon Shaw to a whole new level. – Written by JFelton
