Standard Fare | Out of Sight, Out of Town

STANDARD FARE | OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF TOWN

MELODIC

Standard Fare may be young, but they sure know how to turn out fun indie pop with punk attitude. The Sheffield group’s 2010 debut album The Noyelle Beat is followed-up by Out Of Sight, Out Of Town – a collection of 12 bedroom recordings produced by Alan Smyth (Arctic Monkeys, Pulp). The trio of Emma Cooper, Danny How, and Andy Beswick are joined by violinists Brad San Martin (One Happy Island) and Emily Gunn (Nat Johnson & the Figureheads), and together they create well crafted and highly textured tracks that stay firmly within the themes of love and loss and even the Holocaust. Standouts include “Bad Temper” and “Call Me Up.” – Written by SMarx
