The Hell In Your Mind by the Vancouver-based Sumner Brothers picks-up where 2012’s I’ll Be There Tomorrow left off. Recorded in a cabin on Galiano Island off the coast of British Columbia, the eight song collection was produced by Erik Nielsen (Queen Ida’s Zydeco Band) and features dark lyrical and melancholic arrangements that combine elements of Americana music with roots and indie rock. Notable tracks include: “Ant Song” inspired by an insect-colonizing fungi; the reflective “Lose Your Mind”; the anthemic “Giant Song”; and the heartbreaker “It Wasn’t All My Fault.” The Hell in Your Mind is both another set of unapologetically raw Americana and a fantastic addition to their growing discography. – Written by JFelton
