Daniel Bejar (Destroyer, New Pornographers), Spencer Krug (Sunset Rubdown, Wolf Parade), and Carey Mercer (Frog Eyes) come together again on Enemy Mine, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Beast Moans. This time around the sound seems more stripped down but layered melodies and quirky vocals remain. The combination of songwriting styles range from sparse to noisy indie rock that carries a feeling of being both orchestrated and off–kilter, showcasing each of their idiosyncrasies. Swan Lake’s unique sound continues to progress, elevating the band’s ability to collaborate with one another while giving Enemy Mine a more cohesive quality.
