The Honey Dewdrops – Anyone Can See

  • April 26, 2019

Americana duo Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish (i.e. The Honey Dewdrops) are out with their fifth album, Anyone Can See. The nine-track LP hosts a collection of songs with mellow melodies and beautiful harmonies and socio-political reflections and statements ranging in topic from their evolving Baltimore neighborhood to today’s immigration debate. Album highlights include: the beautiful and vivid “Rainy Windows”; song inspired by Wortman and Parrish’s eclectic Baltimore suburb of Hampden in “Welcome to the Club”; the poignant song about the police death of Freddie Gray in “Going Rate”; a response to anti-immigration rhetoric in “For One More”; and the excellent cover of Hank Williams’ “Ramblin’ Man.” The Honey Dewdrops manage to capture hearts and minds with their compelling songcraft on the fine Anyone Can See. – Written by JFelton
