Athens, Georgia six-piece band The Pink Stones released their debut Introducing…The Pink Stones – an album of shimmering, melancholic cosmic country that intertwines upbeat twang, heartache, and self-deprecating humor into their songs. Recorded at Athens’ Chase Park Transduction Studios and produced by Henry Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, Deerhunter), The Pink Stones is comprised of Hunter Pinkston (vocals, guitar), Will Anderson (piano, organ, vocals), Adam Wayton (bass), Logan Brammer (guitar, vocals), Jack Colclough (drums), and John Neff (pedal steel). Notable tracks include: the somber Gram Parsons-esque opening track “Blueberry Dream”; the rollicking honky tonker “Barroom Blues”; the darkly comic love song “Shiny Bone”; the wistful “Put Me On”; the honky-tonk ballad “Love Me Hardly”; the harmonic heavy “Miss Wind Turbine”; and the hypnotic closing track “Dream So Sweetly.” Introducing…The Pink Stones is an enjoyable and satisfying listen that showcases the band’s potential to become one of Americana music’s top up-and-coming talents. – Written by JFelton
