Akron, Ohio quintet The Shootouts blend elements of rockabilly, traditional country, honky-tonk and Western swing on their debut album Quick Draw. The 13 song set draws upon influences like Roy Orbison, Bob Wills and Marty Stuart, and bridges the sounds of yesteryear and today with energy, wit, and style. Album highlights include: the Western swing opening track “Cleaning House”; the heartfelt ballad “California to Ohio”; the instrumental title-track; a cover of Tim Carroll’s two-step number, “If I Could”; the humorous Shel Silverstein penned marriage-gone-wrong lament, “Alimony”; the stunning country duet “If We Quit Now”; and the lush closing track, “Losing Faith in Being Faithful.” The Shootouts are a very polished band with a clear of love country music and appear to have a blast doing what they do. If you have the chance to catch them live go see them – you will not be disappointed. – Written by JFelton
