Tylor & The Train Robbers – Best of the Worst Kind

  • June 20, 2019

Boise, Idaho fourpiece Tylor & The Train Robbers self-released their catchy sophomore album of country singles, Best of the Worst Kind. Steeped in history and rewritten legend, the LP is inspired by singer/songwriter Tylor Ketchum’s outlaw relative, Black Jack Ketchum, and plays with the oft-repeated caution Ketchum heard growing-up, ‘You’re only as good as who you’re hanging out with.” At times gritty and twangy, production is tight with classic country melodies and riffs. Backed by the Train Robbers, comprised of brother Jason Bushman (bass, vocals), father-in-law, Johnny ‘Shoes’ Pisano (guitar), and Flip Perkins (drums), Ketchum serves up classic narratives that tell it like it is. Highlights among the 12 tracks include: opener, “Lost and Lonely Miles”; the poignant “Storyteller”; the title track; and closer “Place Like This.” – Written by SMarx
