Spirited 17-year-old New England-based blues/early rock ‘n’ roll inspired pianist and singer-songwriter Veronica Lewis has made quite the name for herself winning a bunch of music awards including “Blues Artist of The Year” at the Boston Music Awards. Lewis has also toured extensively, performing at venues and festivals across the country and was featured in a National Women in Blues Showcase. Lewis’ performs as a trio with drums and sax on her debut album You Ain’t Unlucky, which is comprised of eight tracks – six originals songs and two covers. Album highlights include: the lively jazz-tinged bluesy title-track and album opener; the swinging jump-blues number “Clarksdale Sun”; a slow smoky blues cover of the legendary Louis Jordan’s “Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby”; the juke joint-esque number “Fool Me Twice”; and a bouncy cover of Katie Webster’s “Whoo Whee Sweet Daddy.” It is to Lewis’ credit that she is a master of passionate delivery and carries an innate sense of rhythm, while managing to craft her own, distinctive musical identity. With You Ain’t Unlucky, Veronica Lewis delivers a polished set of high-energy rocking blues. Be sure not to miss this up-and-coming young talent and give You Ain’t Unlucky a listen – you will not be disappointed! – Written by JFelton
