Brooklyn based alt-country/roots rock band Yarn is out with their fifth album, Shine the Light On. Inspired by the Rolling Stones’ “Shine a Light”, which the sextet had been covering at shows as well as a desire to return to their early sound circa 2007, singer/songwriter/guitarist Blake Christiana penned their own spiritual sing-a-long in the title track. Yarn’s latest contains their hallmarks of emotional storytelling with strong melodic lines, all set to acoustic instrumentation. Joining Yarn on two of the twelve singles is fan and singer John Oates (Hall and Oates). Standouts on this Americana gem are “Angel Place That Halo”, “Take Me First”, and “Wasted Years.” – Written by SMarx
