Seattle has yet another remarkable up and coming band, The Young Evils, whose self-released debut Enchanted Chapel is creating quite a buzz. Local DJ Troy Nelson (90.3 KEXP; guitar and vocals) heads the indie-pop band with Mackenzie Mercer (vocals), Cody Hurd (guitar), and Faustine Hudson (drums). Often compared to The Vaselines and The Magnetic Fields, The Young Evils craft simple, cheerful acoustic rock full of memorable melodies, boy-girl vocal harmonies, charming lyrics and touches of twang. Standouts among the ten tracks are opener “A Just Built Beaming Light”, “Sleepwalking” and “This Rock And Roll City Is Done”. – Written by JFelton
